It's not just establishment types though, it really isn't, don't get me wrong, I get what you mean, I suppose I could be autistic about it and get really specific but it's a case of it's really getting noticeable how people involved in almost anything politically simply don't like gamers. That's the problem though, even if I got really specific it would turn into quite the list of factions and it's one of my litmus tests on anybody honest because Trump himself has bashed games in the past.

Be honest, when have you ever seen anybody even vaguely political openly defend gamers? I can't think of a single person, the only time it's even vaguely happened is if it's with the GamerGate crowd or people who just happen to be high profile businessmen or whatever that clearly enjoy games themselves. If Trump came out and addressed what he's said previously and brushed it off as some neo-con douche whispering in his ear that would make more sense to me and I'd be comforted by that but no. Also worth noting all this government espionage against gamers hit has been happening on his watch.

At the very least you'd think people on the right would care about government money being pissed away on something as silly as searching for extremists in gaming communities.
