I will continue to balk on owning crypto until I feel confident enough that I understand it. On its own, a hashed, broadcasted data structure that contains its own history is pretty neat. Hell, its a good way to guarantee digital authenticity if you want to apply value to something of that nature which is why the NFT craze happened. It's weird to me that that authenticity craze happened after and not before.

People like that ViacomCEO fella raise my guard even more -- anything requiring that level of obstinance and obtuseness needs to pass a little more muster more than nominal valuations. I'm not going to lie, I see flippant responses relegating Bitcoin to "One very specific private linked-list repo out of many" and don't take it in a flippant way. If one can be flippant about a thing by just defining what it is then that's a problem.
