It's not even a question of quality or otherwise, AI simply does not have the capacity for imagination that a competent artist has and it will get repetitive soon enough. The people doing the skynet larp just don't understand this yet because they don't understand how AI works, it's all going to fall on it's arse hilariously and a lot of people are going to be exposed for being lazy fraudsters.

Just like in games with overuse of procedural generation and bought assets this will happen when you have enough people relying on it.
