Oh it's so much worse than you know, car insurance is going up massively and they seem to be actively trying to price people off the roads. The older generations didn't give two shits when it was happening to younger people but watch how it suddenly becomes a problem when even 50+ drivers are looking at £1000's in insurance premiums to even be able to legally drive.

I will fucking laugh at them and it's also one of the reasons why I'm considering leaving the UK. It's not just the fact it's becoming more expensive to live generally there are certain industries artificially raising costs because they're a monopoly and they can. A lot of foreigners don't understand this about the UK, you have to have a minimum of third party insurance to be able to drive on the road with any vehicle. I'm partly hoping for accelerationism on this one so that the older generations feel it and stop using NPC talking points to attack young drivers. Many young people probably aren't going to even bother getting a license because it's so cost prohibitive to own a vehicle in most cases.

I hate vehicle insurance companies in this country, absolutely hate them, they're government operated syndicates.

Edit: By the way I forgot to mention, weirdly yes you need a motorcycle license for anything above 50cc, but for 50cc mopeds that are limited to 30mph you just need a driver's license and to pass a training course which they try and pretend isn't an exam but it clearly is. The reason I'm considering this so hard is simply cost, a 50cc moped/scooter is dirt cheap and requires very little maintenance and the insurance is very reasonable too. They probably will find a way to make that insanely expensive though.
