Correct answer, I don't know these specific people or anything, but I know the type. They are so left wing they don't realise how left wing they are and scoff at the idea of anyone being even slightly different from them, completely out of touch. In the UK for example it's very much generational brainwashing, you either vote Labour or you're an evil Conservative. Nevermind how Conservatives have been shamelessly mirroring left wing policy for decades to get in peoples' good graces and virtue signal. They don't pay any attention to those kinds of inconvenient facts though.

Other political analysts lamented that far-right parties had successfully positioned themselves as “cool,” in some cases skillfully reaching large audiences on social media. One observer claimed that a rising “ultra-right” counterculture has been able to “reach and radicalize” many young Europeans.

If that doesn't tell you how unbelievably out of touch they are I don't know what will. Oh we just need to be more hip and edgy than the far right, it's totally nothing to do with young people finally growing a brain and realising we've ruined their futures. Check out our edgy left wing memes man!
