I haven't watched the recent specials at all but what really put me off South Park was when the whole Trump thing came along. Being generous to them the problem they have is they're trying to satirise real life but they don't really seem to realise that they're mirroring it half the time and it's simply not funny as a result of that.

I watched a couple of clips just to confirm my prejudices and it was typical shit like when they decided to do that weird 'adults' episode going on about covid and having to show each other vaccinated passports. Yeah that was basically reality and it was soon to be a real thing if the politicians hadn't fucked it all up with their shenanigans of literal cocaine fuelled parties and having affairs while everybody had to stay inside.

If it was old South Park they would have highlighted this big time and not shied away from mocking the politicians who did it. I think they've got a mix of the old TDS and have got the worse problem a comedian can have is they're unfunny as a result of it. I've complained before as well about how disjointed and inconsistent the storyboarding clearly is for the episodes even within each episode.

Couldn't stand watching it, another well known brand bites the dust as far as I'm concerned and I'll never bother with it again because I know they're just going to keep getting worse. It makes you realise as well looking back that even in the beginning when South Park was genuinely funny most of their shit revolved around cringe edgy Atheism and bashing Christianity so it's not actually true that they 'went after everyone'. The one thing I do give them credit for is they had the balls to go after Muslims on occasion but even family guy was far edgier with regards to that.
