Dem currently have a House Resolution up that wants to make owning body armor that can stop rife rounds (Level 3 or higher) a felony.
I unrelated new there is currently a 3 month or so back order on any plate carriers.
*edit HR4568 While looking up the number I realized its been in subcommittee for almost a year. So I don't know if that is a good or bad thing.
