Oh I'm somebody who backed Star Citizen back in the day and it's not cheeky at all I assume by Winds of winter he means an abandonware game. I stopped keeping track of game of thrones entirely after their colossal fuck up.

Well it's a bit complicated, because big studios technically release stuff now even in early access as we've seen with Baldur's Gate 3, which is somewhat refreshing. However at the same time the games are often so incomplete or painfully average they may as well not have been produced at all.

People know I judge games by the gameplay mostly but even when I see people sperging out over the 'graphics' of a game I've not been all that impressed by modern stuff. I don't even think they're really spending money on good artists anymore, they're just keeping a bloated corporation afloat by getting themselves a fanboi cult and ESG money. I think they've worked out even if every gamer out there gets fed up of them they can afford to keep putting out trash every year and still stay afloat, but that's just a maths theory on my part.
