It’s been used for years!

Somehow, I’m not finding “gays have ALWAYS been after your children” to be the compelling defense NBC does. They say it’s “owning” the slurs, but while I’m willing to buy that for things that are insults in and of themselves like “nigger,” and “fag,” I just don’t see any healthy person trying to own something that’s an insult because of the awful behavior it describes.

To flip it a little, if they used their projection to say—as I have actually seen—“it’s awful weird that you care so much about trans kids’ genitals…” my response would never, ever be “yeah, I DO have a lot of interest in their genitals!”
