I actually know exactly who these types of Muslims are thanks to my childhood and they are very much a middle class bubble and I know this because I've lived amongst them. They're not very religious, they do go to mosque, but likely drink alcohol or even eat pork and they are an extreme minority that the left holds up as an example of a 'moderate' Muslim which is not representative of the majority of Muslims at all. You can bet the leftists will attack you though because this is why to them any kind of mild criticism of Islam and bad behaviour by Muslims is an attack on 'their' friends.

The leftists have grown up with these people as well and possibly even consider them friends but give or take given how they're often secret racists themselves and are incredibly stuck up. They trot these Muslims out on television to argue with the evil 'islamaphobes' and it's incredibly manipulative.

These Muslims are a direct result of western tolerance and can only exist because of western tolerance, the joke is though even these incredibly middle class Muslims often have pretty extreme views on the west and probably would happily sell out their fellow countrymen if it meant they could get their version of a religious caliphate. It's an attitude much like they leftists have of NotRealSocialism but they honestly believe they can gatekeep Islam from millions of other Muslims who would kill them given the chance.
