It's interesting because Tucker cites the primary debates where Trump says there were never any weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

What's interesting is that, even though Bush basically said there weren't, there absolutely were. They were ours.

People forget. Saddam wasn't making his own WMD's. We sold him ours. In fact, Rumsfeld was the one who did it. Colin Powell was there, along with W's dad: CiA Director George H W Bush. There were always WMD's in Iraq after the Iran-Iraq War. We knew, because we had the receipts. Worse, we gave Saddam the weapons to gas the Iranians, and he absolutely did. But then he also used our poison gas weapons on the Kurds.

In fact, one of the reasons the DOD lied about the WMD's existing, was because Saddam had buried them, sometime in the mid 1990's. The war was still only to promote Wolfowitz's strategic policy goals in MENA, but the argument of stopping Saddam's development of WMD's was clearly bunk, because he already had stopped with any attempts at chemical weapon development over a decade earlier. The DOD buried the discovered Chemical land fills, but still had to send military CBN & HAZMAT teams to clean up the sites (because they were literally burred, which means the seals on some weapons broke and started leaking).

This all came to light because, of course, the VA and DOD tried to screw over the CBN soldiers who suffered from chemical burns! They actually started denying them medical treatment because there was no record of their injuries occurring in the military, and no record of exposure to WMD's in their history. "Oh, well, gee, I guess I must have inhaled fucking Chlorine Gas at the fucking PX!". The CBN vets started filing lawsuits for medical compensation and eventually the military had to admit that, yes, they were wounded during WMD clean-up and should be compensated for wounds sustained in military service.

Here's the link to the story, it's behind a paywall, but I remember reading back in the day

As for nukes? The Osrisk reactor was never going to produce properly enriched Uranium. The French sold him the Soviet Reactor which wasn't really designed to allow for that. When the Israelis bombed the reactor in Italy in a black-ops mission, they had actually managed to damage the reactor in a serious enough way that it really couldn't be used for enriched uranium, even if repaired and improved to do so. Saddam may have wanted it, but it was never possible. Then the Israelis bombed the reactor again anyway (this time with jets). At that point, the Iraqi nuclear weapons program was effectively dead.
