Ukraine never asked for any personnel, just for weapons. That come extremely slow and few, for the American fear of "escalation" (despite nothing happening when they do expand aid eventually), which includes for example not only still refusing giving any fighters but even blocking the Polish transfer of Polish fighters (for full year, until this March). So again, no one even wants any American personnel (beyond Polish and Baltic or Slovak or Romanian borders).

As for American volunteers, well this Foreign Legion thing is a ridicalous shitshow. Better for willing people to ask for a citizenship and join some normal forces (especially these ideological) or the unofficial foreign paramilitary groups (like these working evacuating stranded civilians from the warzones) but then again one would need to speak Ukrainians or Russian, and bring actual skills of course. All while not be be unpaid and actually paying for most everything.
