I have a Boomer parent. They don't matter any more, they are dying off. They are mostly totally oblivious to what is really going on in the world anyway, as most of them still think the country they grew up in still exists.

I have boomer relatives and while all this is true it is exactly why they are so dangerous in politics.

They want to keep pushing the "anti racism" narrative because in their head they still live in a time when 89% of the country was white so being "anti white" had no meaningful affect.

They easily push the trans narrative because they've lost their sexuality because of their age and they prefer to live in a situation where everyone else has to so they don't have to feel bad about it.

They're like a political terminator, they just keep going and going and going and nothing is going to stop them - not even accomplishing their goals, or the results of what they're doing being bad.

They have absolutely nothing else to do other than digest politics and pretend it's still the 60's for them in their heads - it's simply an affect of extreme age, their brains stop being able to handle change or willing to process new information.

It's like they changed the highway and they still insist on driving then their car off a cliff "where a bridge used to be" because they can't handle that the bridge is not there any more.
