Reason: conservatives

I don't know if plant is the right word, but like the conservatives he's a convenient stooge at times. There's this weird pathology among conservatives and liberal centrists that we need to find ways to "work together" with people on the left, and that somehow we are winning hearts and minds and closing the ideological gap when we unite over common ground. "Everyone can agree when it comes to protecting our kids!"

People on the right practically get turned on when a stereotypical leftist is willing to join them in the culture wars, without considering "maybe this is a sign I was always on the wrong side here..."

People on the left only take it as confirmation bias that they are on the right side of history, and "those idiot cons" are a stopped clock that's right twice a day, gradually being eliminated through subversion to common sense.

I'm not making any argument about PornHub, which based on its history of copyright violations alone seems like a mob racket that "went clean" by climbing over the dead bodies of their fellow shady porn sites, not unlike other disruptive companies that broke the law until they became stronger than the law. Reminds me of CrunchyRoll in some ways.
