Edit: To give my full view on these issues, kids and teens trying to sneak around parental and teacher controls to look at dirty stuff is a tale as old as time and there’s nothing you can ever do to stop them from getting a look at some dirty stuff, all you can do is try to make their access as limited as possible to stuff inappropriate for their age. It’s a part of growing up and having been the sneaky kid once, we all have to play the watchdog adult in our turn. What makes this recent stuff so sinister in my eyes is that the alleged adults are (1) openly handing the stuff to the kids and (2) in many cases, doing so as teachers while knowing the parents wouldn’t approve, which just absolutely reeks of the “it’s okay to do this with me, I’m your secret adult friend, just don’t tell your parents about what we’ve been doing” sort of thing abusers do.
