I listened to some of his early videos at the time, and recall vaguely that he encouraged caution, a quality-of-life approach for the elderly and younger generations, that quarantines would cause more damage to health than the virus, said that the various Covid vaccines would never be allowed on the market under normal rules, (which turned out to be true for every single last Covid vaccine that was used).

He also mentioned previous conditions that would exacerbate Covid infections, such as living in metropolitan areas with heavy air pollution (China, Italy).

Also, he was a well-respected and esteemed microbiologist on the level of Bhattacharya.

But could be that he later derailed. Can't say that I followed him through the entire pandemic.
