So, I don't follow One Piece. I know of it (wife is from Japan, so I've a passing familiarity with a lot of Japanese things/culture), but I've never watched, read, whatever'd it. This means that, when I saw this post here, I went to go do the basic research, and I fed in, "one piece yamato" into the old Google...

First hit: One Piece Wiki

Being assigned female at birth and not usually choosing to explicitly present as male, Yamato has typically been referred to as a woman by people when they first encounter him.[5][12][10] Yamato is taller than an average human, standing at 263 cm (8'8"). He has long, white hair that is bound between orange rods into a ponytail at the back, which fades into aqua green and then blue the further down it goes, and ends in rectangular locks similar to Kaidou. Yamato also has large, orange eyes with prominent eyelashes, wears gold hoop earrings on both ears, and has horns on the top of his head which are mostly red, but gradually become more flesh-colored toward the base.

LOL.

I go look at the Wiki's history, and talk pages... Sure, enough. Pages, upon pages of activists battling it out, banning people, etc in an attempt to control the narrative...

Then the biggie - from the talk page:

Misgendering Policy Clarification

Thank you for the questions, Timjer. While this decision is primarily mine as the Anime Community Manager, Fandom's entire Community team was consulted and we're in agreement that the changes I've described are needed for this Community to be compliant with Fandom's Gender Identity Guidelines. These guidelines were formed by a panel of Fandom users and staff who are all a part of the LGBTQIA+ community. Additionally, One Piece wiki leadership were informed of this decision prior to this announcement, and members helped me craft the language and communication strategy used to inform the broader One Piece wiki community of this decision.

Bans for misgendering, a form of bullying and hate speech, have been enforced on the Fandom platform for years. Willful misgendering of Yamato or any character on the Fandom wiki platform will be met with the consequences I've described. I hope this response clears up any confusion or ambiguity.

There it is. The activists are running the place, and - as it always is with the left - anyone not falling in line is banned. I guess there was just too much debate going on, and they needed a final solution?

Changed protection settings for "Yamato": I am not intending to lock this page again. There will now be a zero tolerance policy for those who elect to ignore the talk page consensus. Anyone who does so will be banned starting at 1 month. ([Edit=Allow only autoconfirmed users] (indefinite) [Move=Allow only autoconfirmed users] (indefinite))

You hear that? They reached a "consensus"! I mean, it sure didn't seem like most everyone agreed, but it's not like that should have stood in the way of something being declared "the consensus!".

God, the internet is so fucking tiresome at this point. Just about everything is totally under siege - 24/7, 365 and a quarter days a year - by leftist activists, attempting to control the narrative. Once they seize control, all dissent is banned.

There is zero objective truth anymore. All there is, is activists assailing something, until they control it, and then them deciding what "the truth" is.

What I find really hilarious is how they do this, and then turn around and decry people finally breaking, and resorting to violence. It's such a joke how we are continuously told about how we - as a species - need to never resort to violence, and that we should instead be battling it out in the marketplace of ideas. Yeah... how in the hell is that going to work, when one side has effectively made it so that zero debate is possible anymore? These imbeciles are the ones responsible for the rise of violence. They have created this situation.
