Wishfully, yes

Practically, no.

Republicans were barely able to scrape their way into the political minor league during an election year that should've shown heavy wins across the board.

The next election? Think Ronald Reagan v Mondale but the whole map is blue.

Now the Republicans, with their bare-bones majority in the country's most useless legislative body, is going to divide into two camps, the majority of which will side with the Democrats. Further, the Republican Senate will join that majority in the house with the blessing of the DNC, locking out any effort by anyone in the "rebel" camp.

By 2024, Republicans in Congress will have the lowest approval rating out of all the branches, and face increasing headwinds by democrat challengers who having been using the time to generate more voters and increase their ballot harvesting operations across the country. The Republicans will be too busy infighting the next 2 years to do anything at all.

As much as I hate to say it, we are in for a Democrat super-majority within the decade. They have the easy path, the tools, and no structured opposition. Neo-con Republicans are already jumping from the populist ship, with McConnell signalling that the highest priority for elected Republicans now is supporting Ukraine. Meaning all this America-First populism is dead on arrival in the Senate. That's a huge defeat.

Boehner crying at Pelosi's celebration? Another example of the absolute weakness and tepidness of the RNC. Do you see any of this happening from democrats? They are too busy calling Republicans racist (because it works) and solidifying their power. The Republican party is toast.
