Unfortunately, "piss off, I'll do what I need to do because I'm better and stronger than you" is the correct attitude to take as a man.

You, literally, can't allow it to get you down because it's demoralizing propaganda that you're gonna have to fight through. "Bad Times make Strong Men" because men who are raised to be weak, must go through the trauma and trials of getting stronger in order to become Strong Men.

Or, in another way: "Pain is Weakness leaving the body"
