Kim Jung Gi was universally respected, I respected him and I am a professed racist, and while personally I think this was an unconsentual encroachment despite being well-meaning - it wasn't racist. Shouldn't even have to say it and it really cheapens the other side of the argument to say so. I'll call him "Kim Jung Gook" all day to poke fun at team yellow, but at the end of the day he had something to give everyone and it would never occur to me to try and steal his shit - if you aren't trying to match his tenacity you're doing it wrong. He was like a shovelhead version of Forrest Gump, except with drawing. If you truly represent your race, you'd aim to exceed him.

On a sidenote his style wasn't even close to being emulated. KJG drew with a particular autistic fixation on complex scenery with fisheye lens, which seems to throw a wrench in the machine and makes it produce more dogshit than usual. Dude was something else.
