Honestly, what I'd be most worried about - if I were Musk - would be the leftist apparatus doing the same thing to his "new and improved" Twitter that they have done to every other attempt that has been made to get around the leftist control of social media. If he says he's cutting 75% of the workspace, and all of a sudden there is way less moderation going on, what you are going to see is:

  • "Twitter doesn't do enough moderation!"
  • "Twitter is absolutely FULL of racism, misogyny, bigotry, etc."
  • NYT, WaPost, all the other shitbag leftist propaganda outlets write stories about how Twitter (all of a sudden) is a hotbed of extremism (as if it isn't right now...)!
  • Apple/Google suspend Twitter on their respective appstores.
  • The hosting/infrastructure sites go after Twitter.

This has been their goto gameplan for every single person/company that has tried to get around their control of narrative via their control of social media. I could easily see them pulling the same shit with Twitter, and turning his 40 bajillion dollar investment into nothing. They would GLEEFULLY do this.
