Given how easy the Internet has made it for the masses to contact politicians and celebrities, and the sheer number of unhinged weirdos and idiots, of course they've received death threats.

If Mister Rogers were alive and streaming on Twitch today, he'd probably get death threats from perverts wanting closeup shots of Henrietta Pussycat's feet.

The question is, are the threats credible?

The answer is "probably not," but law enforcement will still need to waste their time investigating, to make sure they don't let the next John Hinckley Jr. slip through.
