I was told a story about the old country. During ww2 there was a family that provided and harboured 11 jews in the farmhouse. There were some rats in the village and by carelessness the hiding people lit some lights in the basement and it leaked out. The rat reported them to the Gestapo. The family tried to warn them and they made a run for it but they all got all cut down. After the war they found out who the rat was, and it was by incident in 1952 they found the Rat with his head barely attached after some one had slit their throat under a bridge.
