Mostly for the intentional aggression that comes with Id Pol zealotry and race resentment stoking. For a while, I always thought it was just just white nationalists being insanely obsessive about specific issues, which caused forums to basically implode because they would squat on every single topic. I used to think it was because they were so ideologically possessed that it poisoned every conversation they had. And while that's true to an extent, it's not actually the whole story, or even the majority of the story.

The more I learn about Information Warfare tactics, specifically targeting forums, the more I realize it's actually a really nasty tactic both from the alt-right, and from glowies & leftists. It's not an accident when a forum becomes utterly obsessed about jews, it's intentional. It's typically the Leftists intentionally feeding the alt-right. Not even in the standard accidental way, but in a purely cynical and malicious way.

To the alt-right, maybe it kills the forum and maybe it doesn't. Who cares, because their primary monetization model comes from outside the forums and into their niche environment. To glowies and leftists, the destruction of the forum is good because it's one of the better ways to kill a forum's appeal and sustainability, preventing competition from external platforms.

Information Warfare against forums heavily relies on stoking resentment and violence within the environment, and then directing action into an ambush. Repeatedly.

I'm still working out how I need to implement a counter-info-warfare strategy, but as of right now: cutting this primary strategy off at the head is working well enough; and there's also genuine users (even alt-right ones) who want to make sure that the subversion doesn't happen.

The more I learn, the more I realize that we are actually 3 feet underwater in information warfare, not only by the government, but by damn near every single agency, media outlet, and major corporation, all at the same time. I made the mistake of looking at the internet from the eyes of someone who grew up with forums in the 2000's, and not as a combative environment for the weaponization of narratives. That was a mistake and I have to work out a solution.
