Why does it feel like celebrating alphabet pride is a perpetual thing? A mandatory thing, even. It's a joke that never ends.

I remember it being a day growing up. It was a novelty that you could share interest in or ignore as it suited you. That was fine.

Then it became a weekend. Then a week. Then a month. Why not a season though? Hell, we've already gone this far, so why not all day, every day, plastered across each and every institution in the land? The function of those institution has nothing to do with pride, and they have no place celebrating the pride of any individual identities, since they should be serving the whole of society rather than special interest groups, you say? No matter, let's do it anyway!

My tolerance and support ended when I wasn't able to easily ignore what people chose to do in their own bedrooms. They just won't stop telling me. They won't stop telling anyone in earshot. They never stop screaming it out to the world at large.
