It seems that [technological] success brings easement of selection pressures which brings societal decadence and warped behaviours which brings socio-technological collapse. Throw in the diseases and fighting that come with such collapse, and you basically have the pattern not only of human history, but of Life itself. ClImAtE ChAnGe isn't the only driving factor of evolution. But yeah, when you have no selection pressure for a few generations, Nature is going to wind up cleaning genetic house with a vengeance.
