The left has always known the value of "if something hurts you and helps me, it is good. If that same thing hurts me and helps you, it becomes bad". It's not hypocrisy. It's sound tactical judgement. If you are in your trench firing your rifle at the enemy, you hope your bullets hit. You know the enemy is in his trench firing back at you, but you hope his bullets miss. It's not "hypocrisy" that you're not evenly hoping all bullets hit or all bullets miss. The proverbial doubled edged sword can cut both ways, but the wielder obviously doesn't intend it to, and he's not a hypocrite for it. Both edges are intended for the enemy.

The left has always known the truth of this. We can stomp our feet and bitch about how it's not fair or honorable, but it's a hell of a lot smarter to just recognize it as truth and adopt it ourselves in return. You're not a hypocrite for wanting to hurt the enemy but not your own side. In the real world there are no brownie points for playing fair or being the "good guy". There are winners and losers. And the winners get to decide retroactively who the good guys were while the losers get a hole in the ground.

I'm not mad at the left for being shrewd about this. I'm mad at the right for refusing to fight with the same weapons our enemies do.

And no, there is no mass of third party normies on the sidelines watching the battle and checking closely who appears to be more decent and honorable, and siding with them. Normies are going to sit there and drink Starbucks and watch tv, then the winners will tell them what to believe, they'll believe it because they were told to, and they'll go back to their Starbucks and tv. Be the winners. By any means necessary. Once you win, you get to write the history of how you won. And you can make it look as decent and nice and honorable as you want in retrospect. The normies will eat it up because that's what normies do. Look at how many people still worship tyrants like Lincoln or FDR because they won and got to write their own history and tell me I'm wrong. Only losers get trials for their War crimes. The winners get parades.
