I've barely heard it used outside of academia and KiA-adjacent forums, primarily referring to journalist papers. So one would assume it's easily recognizable to people wasting their time reading the drivel of neomarxists.

Maybe it was known with some of GenX but never passed on, because I have rarely seen anybody my age or younger use the term.
