And the last 25 years of the right protesting has shown me that we're not willing to do anything else. Let me know when that changes. It's become boring otherwise.

Ever had a really fat acquaintance or coworker, like someone who's a good 150, 200 lb overweight, who every couple weeks or months comes in talking about their new diet or how they just lost 2 lb since last week? After a certain amount of times of that happening, you just tune it out. You might not say it to their face, but what you're thinking is "just shut the fuck up and let me know when you've been on this diet for 3 months and you've lost 30 lb, until then I don't want to hear about it."

Yes, being on a diet for 3 days and losing half a pound is the first step towards turning your life around and losing a hundred pounds, but for most people who get that overweight, it never goes beyond wanting to brag about how they lost a few pounds last week, but over time you notice they never really change.

That's basically the right with protesting. Let me know when something actually happens. Until then, honestly I don't really give a shit. It's all performative outrage and I'm just bored with it
