I had to double check the channel to make sure this wasn't some very clever satire video but no it's real. The sims was always a bit of a normie pastime and The Sims 4 back in the day was at least somewhat tolerable as a recent sims game however it looks like EA have completely dropped all pretence of being an actual games publisher and are full on pandering now.

This isn't even the most egregious shit that they've done because they've somehow managed to ruin the basic gameplay mechanics of the sims generally. I found holiday events awful for what they are and the devs did a terrible job with them because it's just busy-work spam and doesn't go away. Then there's the awful 'eco' update which is exactly as bad as you think, I consider this far worse than the latest pack they're advertising because what it does is force you to go with these stupid green mechanics and pester you with pop ups related to council stuff. You also randomly get your power turned off and have to construct 'off grid' power which is a pain in the arse and they clearly thought they were being quirky or something but it just pisses me off.

Then there's the fact they've fully embraced the pronouns agenda which is utter cringe but that argument has been beaten to death now even the "It's just pronouns bro" types aren't posting that anymore. Mind you, I shouldn't complain this is another avenue of attack EA have opened up on because The Sims was practically it's own genre and now they've managed to fuck it up so much a lot of their fans are simply installing the Sims 3 but that always ran like shit.

Even though I despise the RNG in it games like Rimworld are doing a better job of Sims style management and interaction than the Sims devs themselves.
