Jews were guests in the absolute majority of nations they were kicked out of. They were not part of the native population or the culture nor did they play significant positive roles in those nations. But yes, ethnic cleansing would be the correct term for it IF you consider Jews an ethnic group which sometimes they are and sometimes they're not. They can't really decide. Otherwise it's a religious cleansing. And their religious beliefs were the main reason for the evictions most of the time not their ethnicity.
