"Conspiracy to" has always been the most ridiculous charge. Change my mind. It exists only to rope in people who can't be proven guilty, but "oh we're sure about this one; he's a well known criminal".

Local PD readily use the charge on local criminals. DC uses it on anybody they want; anybody who dared to scheme to knock on their door.

Watch any of those true crime shows where they want you to feel bad for the criminals. Like half of them are sympathetic because they were thrown in there based on an association with a murderer. Riding in the same car is enough. But naturally not-murderers should punished less severely than murderers. Under the law they are punished the same which is BS to me. And this effects black men a ton for those who are worried about the social justice aspect. Since they associate with other black men. Who shoot people. It's not always super-sympathetic people, but non-murderers don't need to be in on life sentences.
