In video games I agree with you that an attractive/ideal guy but ugly woman is a red flag and indicates that the developer isn’t focusing on making a good game. In movies/tv/music I’ve been known to check something out due to an attractive lady, but if it’s bad it’s bad. I bought all of Fiona Apple’s CDs back in the day because I thought she was hot.

This push to uglify women is pretty telling though, especially since they don’t do that to men.
