Yes and no. The classic jock has been replaced by the preppy type in 6 different social clubs so he can get a good playing job that his tiger mom approves of. There was even a book about that phenomenon and the changes in education from the 80s onwards. That said, lots of former jocks fit the stereotype of getting fat and following the rules blindly.
