Merely labelling them correctly sent them running to the hills. There's no reason for them to respond like this unless the efficacy and success of their operations in part relies upon people being unaware of whose interests they truly represent.

I can think of another group of people that behave in the exact same manner. Another group that, when identified, recoils, wounded.

(EDIT: I hadn't even seen this when I wrote this post. So it really is 100% about keeping joe public unaware of who pays them. It's an open secret that they rely on the average pleb being oblivious to.)
