Persona 5: The Phantom X is a free-to-play mobile spin-off game announced by publisher Perfect World Games and developer Black Wings Game Studio.
No problem then because I was never going to play it anyway. 👌
But it does make me wonder what the workaround is for digital content region-locked or censored in localization.

With console games we bought imports
-
With anime and manga we usually just find fansubs and scanlations, but importing used to be common and often you still can. (just have to wait for the anime hardcopy release)
-
Of course we can sail the high seas to get digital games, but that is hindered with Steam/DRM or online requirements. Though I have successfully played Japan-only online games by using a VPN.
What about mobile games specifically? Are there groups distributing uncensored apks from the original region? Or applying fan translations? Can these even be played if they're online games? I believe it's totally impossible on iPhone.
What are our future (or current) prospects for acquiring foreign versions of digitally distributed and mobile games?
