from a young age these people build their entire identity around resisting something they deem to be oppressive. it could be a religion, a country, or (in recent years) even a popular franchise. in this case, the oppression is that that judaism/chrsitianity has different customs and societal rules for man and women. when you tell feminists they're not allowed to do something, it really grinds their gears. even if they don't care about said thing (this woman is most definitely not religious, it's a lifestyle thing).
