I don't think people read that story correctly.
When the angels were kept in Job's house, they didn't just say "Oh, heeeeeey. Is that a guest uwu?"
They went to Job's house and said they didn't like that Job had treated a guest well, and as punishment the lynch mob was going to gang-rape the angels. Job offered them literally everything, even his own daughters (to deny them the excuse of a need for sex), and they were offended by that, and decided that they were going to ... again: gang-rape the angels... and gang-rape his daughters... and then gang-rape and murder Lot.
That's when the angels were like: "Yeah, no, I cast magical blindness on the lynch mob. Anyway, God clearly sent us to fucking destroy this place, because what the absolute fuck was that?"
This lynch mob was so fucking evil that they took personal offense to someone treating a guest nice in their home, that they decided they were gonna rape and murder everyone, men and women, and kill them. That's pretty fucking extreme, and honestly more extreme than anything we see today.
