That said, I'm not entirely sure how significant a simulation of this sort would be in theoretical physics. At least as especially solid or reliable evidence for something this theoretical.

What's probably more significant is the methodology and setup used for running the simulation in the first place, which could be a good advance in furthering future simulations that might prove increasingly useful.

I'm just hazarding a few guesses though, based on some skimming and what I know of how the media tends to report on scientific articles of this nature.
