Absolutely true. Google once approached Tencent to buy their stake in an effort to try and tank the company from the inside. They also tried to bribe AV companies to say that sideloading apps is dangerous and shouldn't be done, specifically to target Epic.
Saying that, pushing Tim Sweeney around is a bit different from pushing around Elon Musk.
