If the game offers a decent world/setting and exploration, with the ability to still be modded, I probably will still get it eventually.
Everyone lambasts Fallout 76, but I still had fun exploring the world and screwing around in it. Would probably still play it if I could setup my own server and mod it.
Biggest concern is how "current year" Starfield will be, sometimes that can be modded out, sometimes it can't. Sims 4 is a good example of that, EA/Sims studio adds woke stuff, and I either remove it, ignore it, or pervert it into something that would trigger the hell out of the progs.
Really all I want is a decent foundation to set the game up how I want it.
