The funniest thing to me is that I'm actually not a helpful contributor in local communities. In fact, I've never posted in any, because that would have revealed more about me than I'd like to reveal. Hell, I've never used either of my native languages on Reddit, but they just assume I'm an X speaker. Amazing.

They just IP-check users (possibly in violation of GDPR) and automatically send anyone who is a moderator this message. They didn't bother to build in a check "did we ban this guy".
