For starters, why should Trump trust anything the FBI/DOJ says? Which lawyer of Trump's said "This seems legit" and called it a day? If I was Trump's lawyer and the DOJ told me to just "put an extra lock on it" I'd be prepping every document all the way down to the family's laundry list for immediate transfer over to the government.

Trump is in the unenviable position that whatever he does will not only be looked at under a microscope, but will be an object of a full criminal investigation.

I don't know if the Trump realizes that yet. Right or wrong, no matter what he does, he's going to get the full weight of the federal government checking in on EVERYTHING his hands are on.
