Or buy a deep freeze if you don't have one but you have space. A small chest freezer should be able to hold a years worth of meat easily and it's not a huge expense compared to the cost of the meat.
e: And to add to the no auto defrost statement, don't pull out meat as needed, pull out a week or two worth and transfer to your regular freezer. If possible freeze anything you need to add to the deep freeze in your regular freezer before adding it to the deep freeze. If the item is warm then absolutely freeze it in your regular freezer first. This will minimize the amount of frost build up because the water has to come from somewhere either outside air or given off by food as it freezes.
