Actually, almost all of the female professors put their pronouns (always she/her -- basic bitches), and a FEW of the younger male professors still don't put pronouns.

Bears out where I am. I'll be damned if I ever uSe PrOnOuNs. I'll tell ya what's worse in academia is having to hide my powerlevel. Which, that'd be no issue if offices were the way they were as little as a decade back and politics just weren't talked about. It's so god dang one-sided now and depending on where you're at you have to just smile and nod and act like everything's ok when it's not. But tbf, at the end of the day I'm pretty insulated from that sort of thing where I'm at and it's not like I didn't know things would probably be like that when I signed up so eh. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Imagine if they're thinking.. "OF COURSE I am a woman so I'm going to put she/her so everyone knows it and doesn't question it".

Or maybe they see the way the wind's blowing but I'm probably expecting too much of the normie.

I will say I ran into a case (probably the only one) where having the fucking pronouns would've been handy. I was having to email someone at a different place named Soul. Silly me I wrote that email as Ms. ______. It was embarrassing when I got an email correcting me but, easy fix, I just apologized and we went on with our business, no muss no fuss.

Actually, on second thought screw pronouns there too. If people can't handle accidentally calling someone by the wrong thing and moving on like I did they have no business working in an office, or, anywhere really.

Office muckety-mucks are working on making life such a hugbox they aren't anywhere close to actually living.
