Disney hadn’t fully corrupted Pixar by the time of 3 (there was less Cars 2 and more Wall-E and Up, still)…

By the time of 4? Pixar didn’t really exist anymore. It was “Disney subsidiary zombie Pixar”.

Hence why all the movies became about humans and human problems, instead of bugs, animals, vehicles and inanimate objects which Pixar built its name on

There’s a massive difference. I’m not saying early Pixar didn’t do humans, but they weren’t the “dialogue heavy”, “emotionally loaded” woke shitfests that Disney turned them into…

Frankly, it’s gotten so bad that HTTYD at Dreamworks has far surpassed modern Pixar (pretty much anything after Up, IMHO) in almost every possible way, except budgeting…

Because Dreamworks still knows how to make it somewhat fun, even with “darker” stories (Dragon 2 and 3), like Disney used to, decades ago, and like Don Bluth (Land Before Time, American Tail, Anastacia, All Dogs Go To Heaven, etc.) did…

Whereas I’m honestly not sure Disney-Pixar does, anymore, to be frank…

The late 80s through 90s and into the early 2000s, man…

Holy shit was Western Animation ever at its peak, at that point. Unfortunately… 😔

And no, it’s not just nostalgia, because I wasn’t even alive, when half of those movies came out. But watching them later, as I grew up? Holy shit they’re good. So much better than almost anything since (I.e. in the last decade)…
