Oh, this again? Last I heard about this movie, pre-Corona, there was an east Asian looking dude in the cast, even though it takes place in 15th century Bohemia, shortly after the events of Kingdom Come: Deliverance (the game is about the events leading up to the Hussite uprising). The Czech name of the movie is Jan Žižka, after the main character. I guess they use Medieval in English because the name isn't very well known in the west.

Looking at the cast now, I can't find the Asian, but apparently Ben Cristovao is supposed to be in it in some minor role. Say hi to Ben. On the other hand, Daniel Vávra (of KC:D fame) is involved in some (probably minor) capacity, which is nice.

I don't see any wagenburgs or early firearms and cannons, which is disappointing, but then again this is just a teaser. Seriously, if there isn't a scene with a Crusader cavalry charge getting shredded by early field cannons I'm suing someone.

Anyway, based on bits I've heard about this over the year, as well as the teaser, I think it's going to be based on historical events in the same way The Gladiator was. Or that Robin Hood movie with Russell Crowe. It will 100% be pretty much completely ahistorical, but whether it's going to be any good, I can't tell. The teaser doesn't fill me with too much hope.

If you're interested in the events the movie is (probably very loosely) based on, watch this for a quick rundown: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHJHtvMcBKA

Ninja edit: Oh wait, it's Žižka's origin story, it might not feature his career as a commander of the Hussites at all. Well fuck that with a rake.
