Has anyone else seen a fertility doctor and they try to get you to do genetic testing? I think it's because I'm Ashkenazi Jewish, but I'm wondering 1) how big a deal that is and 2) how necessary the genetic testing is (my partner's not Jewish, Ashkenazi or otherwise) It's Sema4 genetic testing, and all the paperwork says "we strongly advise this" but it's not clear why? Like Jews have babies all the time?

I wonder if this means jews have figured out they should stop fucking their cousins?
