Majority of the gays were heavy substance users, and much like porn or fighting or anything that alters phenotype through repetition, addiction, or habit-forming routines, there are alterations in gene expression from homosexuals.
Liken it to the way a heroin addict's neurophysiology changes after becoming addicted. Common sense tells us there is no heroin gene people are born with, but rather gene expression changes after the habit-forming addiction becomes part of their behavior.
