Question? Were the moors even black? From wikipedia:

"Sub-Saharan Africans joined the population mix during centuries of trans-Saharan trade. Traders and slaves went to the Maghreb from the Sahel region. On the Saharan southern edge of the Maghreb are small communities of black populations, sometimes called Haratine. They appear to have descended from black populations who inhabited the Sahara during its last wet period and then migrated north as it turned to dese"

While they did have darker skin then Europeans they do not seem to have been Serena Williams black.

The point was that the sub-saharan africans are not native to the region where the moors originated and as DNA at least differ greatly to sub-saharan africans. I would not be surprised if they were closed to egyptians then sub-saharan africans.
